Gemstone Stacking Rings in Gold and Platinum

Happy Holidays! When it comes to festive style, I absolutely love gold and gemstone ring stacks. There’s something about gold that just says “holiday season,” especially when paired with gorgeous red, green, and blue gemstones.

Colored ring stacks are great for any time of the year because you can swap out rings in different colors to reflect your vibe. Try soft pastels for spring, rich earth tones in the fall, and brights in the summer. You can also mix-and-match with stackable diamond bands for added sparkle. (You know I can never get enough sparkle!)

Stacking rings make great holiday gifts because you can build your collection one piece at a time. They’re also a perfect way to use heirloom stones, bringing a whole new sweet and sentimental quality to the gift. Whatever your style, here are my suggestions for colorful stacking rings to add to your holiday wishlist.

Sunset Sparkle and Sunrise Sparkle

While these two rings are closely related, they have subtle differences that can make a big impact. The Sunset Sparkle features a 5mm round gemstone of your choice in a four-prong setting on a delicate, hand-textured ripple band. It was one of my original designs for the Graceful Glimmer Collection, and I’m still a huge fan.

The Sunrise Sparkle also features a 5mm round, but it’s held in a slightly grander 6-prong setting on an even thinner band. This version has a bigger “gem-to-band ratio,” so it really makes the stone pop. So which one should you pick? It’s really up to you! There’s also nothing stopping you from including both versions in your ring stack.

Sunbeam

The Sunbeam ring is the largest of my stacking rings. With a 6mm round center stone and a ripple band measuring 5mm at the widest point, it’s actually the same size as the Lily Pads by the Pond, one of my statement rings.

One of my key tips for stacking rings is to choose one larger piece as the “anchor” for your stack. The Sunbeam is definitely a great candidate for that role!

Horizon Mist

It’s also useful to add some different shapes and sizes of stones to your stack, to create visual complexity. The Horizon Mist ring features an oval stone set east-west. This setting, combined with a nice thin band, makes this ring excellent for stacking. You can layer multiple Horizon Mist rings together, or pair them with several different bands!

Shooting Star

The Shooting Star band is now available in colored gemstone options as well as the original diamond design. It features petite bezel-set stones on a thin, wavy, and textured ripple band. These super-petite pieces are the ideal base pieces for your stack, because they go with anything and are easy to build upon with larger rings.

Dandelion Bloom

My most petite, most personalizable, and super-stackable Dandelion Bloom ring is so popular it earned itself its very own blog post. So definitely hop on over there for the full run-down of everything you can do with this piece. For now, suffice it to say that this itty-bitty band is made to be mixed, matched, layered, stacked, and collected over time. There are also tons of fun variations. The Dandelion Band, the Dandelion Double, and the brand-new Dandelion Meadow are fantastic in-between pieces for any ring stack.

So there you have it! These petite stacking rings are so giftable for the holidays and so much fun to play with. I can’t wait to see what you create!
