The Top 5 Bridal Jewelry Trends for 2023

Kristen Baird

Today’s brides and grooms are rewriting all the rules. Over the past few years, couples have had to get creative on their big days, whether that means cutting the huge guest list in favor of a more intimate affair, opting for a low-key backyard bash, or simply reevaluating what’s really important to them.

With the wedding world back in full swing, it’s clear that the best elements of these changes are here to stay. Now, couples focus less on outdated rules and more on what makes them happy. This anything-goes attitude extends to their jewelry choices as well… and I’m obsessed!!

Here are my top 5 favorite bridal jewelry trends of 2023!

Sultry Black Jewelry

Black?! On your wedding day?! I’d clutch my pearls, but they’re accented with black patina.

Edgy brides are bringing out their pop-punk side with eye-popping black onyx and sultry black diamond engagement rings. I adore black diamonds because they evoke an air of mystery and mischief while still being absolutely stunning. If you’re looking for a cheeky twist on the traditional diamond ring, look no further than this alternative. Similarly, black pearls are a fun play on the most traditional of bridal styles, the pearl necklace.  You can even accent your pearls with a pop of black patina.

Custom Men’s Rings

Grooms just wanna have fun! Recently, I’ve had several couples request one-of-a-kind custom wedding rings for men, and I absolutely love them. There’s no reason why a groom shouldn’t feel just as special as his bride or love his ring just as much as she does. Whether he wants something simple with texture or he’s looking for a diamond-studded dazzler of his own, there’s nothing stopping this trend. It’s especially lovely when I get to coordinate a matching men’s band that compliments yet contrasts with the bride’s ring set.

Two-Toned Wedding Rings

I’ve been urging brides to put some color into their engagement rings for years, and they’re responding in a big way. (Okay, so I can’t take full credit for this trend, but I do heartily endorse it!) Recently, I’ve noticed more brides opt for two-toned engagement rings! These duel-stone stunners highlight the range of color shades within a single stone variety or even mix-and-match stones. Alternatively, you can experiment with mixing metals between your engagement ring and your wedding band!

Mix-and-Match Bridesmaid Jewelry

The mix-and-match bridesmaid trend has been around for a while, and I think it’s here to stay. But what about when it comes to jewelry? Being a bridesmaid can be pricey, so it’s a nice touch when a bride opts to gift the wedding-day jewelry to her girls, and it’s even nicer if they each get their own unique piece. These brides are carefully choosing gifts for these ladies that they might even (dare I say it) wear again!

Body Art-Inspired Jewelry

Put that concealer away! If you love your tattoos, there’s no reason to hide them on your wedding day. Now, brides are choosing dresses that show off their ink and selecting jewelry to compliment it. And why not? For this shoot, we chose jewelry that highlighted the pinks and blues of the bride’s tattoos, while being careful not to cover them up. We also echoed the floral and star shapes. Let the real you shine through!

TLDR: Your wedding day is just that - YOUR wedding day. Make it what you love in every way!
